A sequência do terror vai mostrar o grupo retornando a cidade de Derry 27 anos após os acontecimentos do filme anterior para enfim derrotar Pennywise de uma vez por todas.
Bill Skarsgård retornará para interpretar o palhaço medonho Pennywise, Jessica Chastain está confirmada como a Beverly Marsh do novo capítulo enquanto Bill Hader e James McAvoy vão viver Richie Tozier e Bill Denbrough. James Ransone vai interpretar Eddie, Andy Bean será Stanley, Isaiah Mustafa será Mike e Jay Ryan vai interpretar Ben.
